Dual line greasing systems are particularly suitable for high pressure centralised greasing applications where long pumping distances and heavy greases are encountered, typical of heavy fixed plant like bogie bearings and ring gears on stacker reclaimers and ship loaders. The dual line concept employs a high pressure grease pump, two high pressure grease lines, a reversing valve to alternate pressure between the lines, TD3 grease metering valves and a system controller to manage the pumping cycle. Larger systems integrated with machine PLC's incorporate control cabinets with pressure gauges and switches to monitor the system. Grease is pumped from one line from the pump via the reversing valve which alternately pressurises the main lines. As this occurs grease pressure actuates the TD3 metering valves delivering a precisely measured quantity of grease to each lube point.
